Alameda Junior Golf Member Benefits

Club membership dues are $50 for 2024. Current active members may renew after December 31st for the following year which will assure uninterrupted participation in the Youth on Course and the GHIN handicap programs.

Membership dues cover all “greens fees” and prizes for AJGA’s Wednesday tournaments, membership in Northern California Golf Association’s (NCGA) Youth on Course (see below), and a “GHIN” number assigned by USGA (U.S. Golf Association) that will enable each player to acquire and update a “Handicap Index” rating.

Multi-year, active members are also considered for being awarded an AJGA college scholarship.  This is a significant benefit.  Over the last 10 years AJGA has awarded over $400,000 in scholarships.  Becoming a member and participating in the club activities makes you eligible for scholarship consideration.  For more information about the Scholarship program see the 'News' page.

Youth on Course

The Northern California Golf Association (NCGA) established Youth on Course in 2006 to make golf more accessible and affordable for young players (ages 7~18). Within 5 years it added opportunities for its members to participate in caddie programs, paid high school internships and college scholarships. Then it expanded its geographical scope such that currently courses in 17 national regions are participating in Youth on Course.

That means that a junior member of Youth on Course can now play golf at any of approximately 650 courses located primarily in the western United States (but expanding ever eastward) for $5 or less.

When a junior joins the Alameda Junior Golf Association (AJGA), NCGA will automatically enroll them as a Youth on Course member within several weeks.

For our AJGA members, it is even better locally. AJGA members can play golf at Corica Park in Alameda for free on the South Course after 4:00 PM, $5 to play on the Mif Albright (Par 3) Course and $6 Range Balls (Medium Bucket). Of course, green fees for the Wednesday AJGA tournaments (mentioned above) have no additional charge for members beyond the annual membership dues.
